It provides a number of recommendations to ensure the sustainable development of regional transportation and infrastructure, affordable housing and quality public amenities.



Spatial planning in the Czech Republic

This chapter provides the national context for the case study of Prague that follows. It offers an overview of the institutional frameworks that govern the spatial planning system in the Czech Republic. These include the major pieces of legislation that structure the planning system and their evolution over time along with a discussion of how fiscal relations create incentives for land use in Czech municipalities and finally, the key issues facing the planning system and the major land-use challenges in the country.
