It gives an account of their endeavours to create better and more peaceful conditions for all mankind and their efforts to deal with matters of pressing concern in a variety of areas. Each volume is fully indexed and reproduces all major General Assembly, Security Council and Economic and Social Council resolutions issued during the year.

International Labour Organization (ILO)

In 2000, the International Labour Organization (ILO) continued to promote social justice and economic stability and improve labour conditions. lLO’s strategic objectives were to promote and realize fundamental principles and rights at work; create greater opportunities for women and men to secure decent employment and income; enhance the coverage and effectiveness of social protection; and strengthen tripartism and social dialogue.
