The IRTAD Road Safety Annual Report 2018 provides an overview of road safety performance for 32 countries. The report outlines the most recent road safety developments across IRTAD countries and comparative data for the main road safety indicators. It also offers detailed analysis by road user, age group and type of road. It describes the crash data collection process in IRTAD countries, the road safety strategies and targets in place and information on recent trends in speeding, drink-driving and other aspects of road user behaviour.

The number of road deaths decreased by 1.6% in 2017, with vulnerable road users accounting for 63% of all road deaths. The safety of motorcyclists is a growing concern in Morocco, with an increase in their mortality of more than 160% between 2000 and 2017. In 2018, the government of Morocco announced the creation of the National Road Safety Agency, which will be responsible for the consolidation and the coordination of all actions related to road safety. The current road safety strategy covers the period 2017-26. Its main target is to reduce the number of road deaths by 50% between 2015 and 2026.
