Consumers expect that the food products they purchase will, subject to proper preparation, storage and handling, be safe for consumption. As food safety hazards can be introduced at any stage of the food supply chain, adequate controls throughout the food chain are essential and each food business and input supplier’s combined efforts are required to ensure it.
