Teaching Science, Mathematics, Technical and Vocational Subjects in an Interrelated Way

In many schools the curriculum is based on a timetable of separate subjects serviced by specialist teachers who work in isolation from teachers in other subject areas. Also, subjects are offered as an academic discipline with little or no reference to their practical value. In these situations the teaching of science and technology-based subjects is largely confined to the classroom and the importance of doing, making and organising is often neglected.
