Goods tranport includes data on freight transport by road, rail, sea for International Transport Forum (ITF) member countries as well as inland waterways and pipeline for some countries. Variables are measured in tonne-kilometres (T-km) for inland transport and short sea shipping and in tons and Twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) for containers transported by rail and sea. Data are collected from Transport Ministries, statistical offices and other institutions designated as an official data source.

This dataset comprises quarterly data for indicators covering goods transport in tonne-kilometres (T-km), by rail, road and inland waterways, passenger transport by rail in passenger-kilometres (P-km), road traffic in vehicle-kilometres (V-km) first registration of brand new vehicles, petrol deliveries to the road transport sector and road fatalities. Data are collected for ITF member countries.

This dataset presents information on vehicle taxes, fuel excise duties and user charges taking into account any possible refunds, rebates and exemptions. These data allow for comparison of road freight transport fiscal regimes in different countries in quantitative terms. In order to allow for comparisons of road freight taxation regimes in different countries, net taxation levels are calculated for a standard domestic haul (400-km domestic hauls with 40 tonne trucks). These results are then assessed per vehicle-kilometre and per tonne-kilometre and shown in euros.

These indicators measure how many destinations you can reach (absolute accessibility), how many destinations are nearby (proximity) and what is the impact of the transport system in reaching these destinations (transport performance). The indicators are computed for many different destinations, for four transport modes (car, public transport, walking and cycling), for different geographical levels and for different thresholds. This dataset contains indicators for 121 European cities and is an outcome of the "Access and safety in European cities" project.

ITF Transport Statistics
International Transport Forum
The ITF Transport Statistics database comprises statistics collected by the International Transport Forum on transport networks, equipment, freight and passenger transport, road safety and spending on infrastructure. Additionally, there are quarterly data covering road traffic, new vehicles, and fuel use. Most of the ITF data series start in 1995. However, the database also includes harmonised time series consolidated as far back as 1970.
