This reliable and up-to-date source of data on trade flows between OECD countries and their trading partners provides detailed insight into the most recent trends in world trading patterns. Data are broken down by economic groupings, by country and region, including seasonally adjusted series and calculated indicators. The series shown cover data for the last 8 months, 4 quarters and 2 years available. This monthly publication is divided into four parts: aggregate trade indicators, volume and average value indices, trade by SITC sections, and foreign trade of OECD countries by partner country.

Longer time series are available online on SourceOECD (www.SourceOECD.org). The CD-ROM version has been discontinued. Detailed trade by commodity statistics are available in the International Trade by Commodities publications. For further information on these titles, please consult www.oecd.org/std/its.

This reliable and up-to-date source of statistics on international trade of OECD countries provides a detailed insight into the most recent trends in trading patterns for OECD countries with the rest of the world. Data are broken down by economic groupings, by country and by region, and include seasonally adjusted series as well as calculated indicators. The series shown cover data for the last eight months, four quarters and two years.

  • Foreword
    This Monthly Statistics of International Trade publication is the most up-to-date source of international trade data of OECD member countries. As part of the OECD-wide data warehouse, OECD.STAT, this publication has been improved in several aspects. First, the new standard design considerably improves readability; second, the indicators part has been extended: third, the new OECD geographical nomenclature 2006 has been implemented; and fourth, the metadata part has been reorganised and improved. This publication is divided into four parts: calculated aggregates and indicators (Part I), derived indices (Part II), trade by SITC sections (Part III), and more detailed trade by partner countries (Part IV).
  • Introduction
    The annex of this publication contains OECD’s new geographical nomenclature, countryspecific notes and exchange rates.
  • Definitions
    The following definitions apply throughout this publication. For exceptions, please refer to the country methodological notes in Part IV.
  • International Trade Indicators
    This part includes values of trade, for each OECD member country and selected area totals. The series are shown both before and after adjustment for seasonal variations. Data are also available for calculated indicators, such as net trade and coverage ratios.
  • Volume and Unit Value Trade Indices
    This part includes volume indices and unit value indices for both imports and exports for almost all OECD member countries. There is considerable variation across countries in the amount of detail provided and in the classifications used.
  • Trade by SITC Sections
    This part provides data on each country's trade classified based on the sections of the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC).
