This Monthly Statistics of International Trade publication is the most up-to-date source of international trade data of OECD member countries. As part of the OECD-wide data warehouse, OECD.STAT, this publication has been improved in several aspects. First, the new standard design considerably improves readability; second, the indicators part has been extended: third, the new OECD geographical nomenclature 2006 has been implemented; and fourth, the metadata part has been reorganised and improved. This publication is divided into four parts: calculated aggregates and indicators (Part I), derived indices (Part II), trade by SITC sections (Part III), and more detailed trade by partner countries (Part IV).
  • Click to Access:  Introduction
The annex of this publication contains OECD’s new geographical nomenclature, countryspecific notes and exchange rates. Data presented are much less detailed than the annual statistics included in the paper publication "International Trade by Commodity Statistics (ITCS)", which provides full detail by commodity as well as by partner country. A DVD version of this publication is also available. The OECD publishes data received directly from the Statistical Office of the European Communities (Eurostat) under the names EU15 extra-EU and Euro area extra-EU (for the first 12 euro area countries), which excludes Intra-EU trade (cf. definitions: Differences between OECD statistics and Community statistics of Eurostat.)
  • Click to Access:  Definitions
The following definitions apply throughout this publication. For exceptions, please refer to the country methodological notes in Part IV.
  • Click to Access:  International Trade Indicators
This part includes values of trade, for each OECD member country and selected area totals. The series are shown both before and after adjustment for seasonal variations. Data are also available for calculated indicators, such as net trade and coverage ratios.
  • Click to Access:  Volume and Unit Value Trade Indices
This part includes volume indices and unit value indices for both imports and exports for almost all OECD member countries. There is considerable variation across countries in the amount of detail provided and in the classifications used.
  • Click to Access:  Trade by SITC Sections
This part provides data on each country's trade classified based on the sections of the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC). Data are available for almost all OECD member countries: 0. Food and live animals. 1. Beverages and tobacco. 2. Crude materials, inedible. 3. Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials. 4. Animal and vegetable oils and fats. 5. Chemicals and realted products, n.e.s. 6. Manufactured goods classified chiefly by material. 7. Machinery and transport equipment. 8. Miscellaneous manufactured articles. 9. Commodities and transactions, n.e.c
