Nordic cooperation is characterized largely by the international community and the global challenges and opportunities. The Nordic countries, which are relatively small, can benefit greatly by obtaining common use in cooperation with other countries. The Nordic countries are small, open economies and thus export-depending countries. International trade constitutes an important part of the economic activity. This indicator shows the proportion of goods imported from the other Nordic countries (Intra-Nordic trade) in per cent of total import. Data is based on two main sources: Extrastat and Intrastat. Extrastat covers trade (import and export) with non-EU countries (third countries) based on the customs and supplies information that companies report to tax authorities about their trade with countries outside the EU.
