Main Science and Technology provides a set of indicators that reflect the level and structure of the efforts undertaken by OECD Member countries and selected non-member economies in the field of Science and Technology from 1981 onwards. Indicators cover resources devoted to research and development (R&D), researchers, patent families, technology balance of payments and international trade in highly R&D-intensive industries.

Business enterprise R-D personnel by industry presents research and development (R&D) statistics on personnel in the business enterprise sector. Measured in full-time equivalent are the number of total R&D personnel and researchers in the business enterprise sector by industry according to the International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC) revision 3.1. Data at the industry level are presented starting in 1987 including sectors such as agriculture, mining, manufacturing, electricity,construction and services sector when most of the countries converted from ISIC rev.2 to the current ISIC rev. 3 classification.

This table presents research and development (R&D) statistics on personnel in the business enterprise sector. OECD Science, Technology and R&D Statistics
The Science and Technology Database Set comprises two databases: Basic Science and Technology Statistics, covering resources devoted to research and development (R&D) and indicators of the results of science and technology (S&T) activities, such as patents and technology balance of payments; and Main Science and Technology Indicators a timely selection of the most frequently used indicators on the scientific and technological performance of the OECD Member countries: resources devoted to R&D, measures of output and the impact on S&T activities (patents, trade in high-technology industries).
