This chapter presents a preliminary consideration of initiatives for quality assurance, accreditation and recognition of qualifications that might be taken by key stake-holders – higher education institutions, quality assurance and accreditation agencies, recognition agencies, professional bodies and governments – to better meet the challenges of growth and diversity of cross-border education provision and the emergence of for-profit providers.
