OECD’s monthly Main Economic Indicators (MEI) provides a comprehensive picture of the most recent economic statistics in the 30 OECD countries and a number of non-member countries including Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, the Russian Federation, and South Africa. Each issue provides, for each country, the monthly data for the past 12 months, quarterly data for the past two years, and annual data for the past four years. The most recent data varies by country, but generally runs about two months behind the publication date.
Using the most up-to-date graphical and tabular presentation, the indicators cover quarterly national accounts, business surveys, retail sales, industrial production, construction, consumer prices, total employment, unemployment rates, interest rates, money and domestic finance, foreign finance, foreign trade and balance of payments.
ALSO AVAILABLE ONLINE AND ON CD-ROM
The MEI database is also available online at www.OECD-iLibrary.org. The online version provides data going back as far as 1960 and series not included in the print version, including extra business surveys, balance of payments data, and leading indicator series. The CD-ROM version is available in user-friendly software, Beyond 20/20 for Windows, that allows the user to extract data and prepare customised tools for analysis such as graphs and tables.
