    The short-term changes and long-term trends in OECD countries’ agricultural support  re described in this section. The latest data provide preliminary estimates of 2005 support  hat are compared against the previous year to provide a short-term assessment.  ong-term trends in agricultural policy are best evaluated by comparing the 2003-05  nd 1986-88 periods (Box 1.1).
